The Associate Minister of Labour, Hon Ruth Dyson, released the Report of the Taskforce and the Government response to the Taskforce's recommendations on 13 May 2004.

In 2003 the Government established a taskforce to advise on how the factors that contribute to the gender pay gap apply in particular parts of the public service and public health and education sectors, and to develop a five year plan of action to address pay and employment equity, with reference to those factors.

The Taskforce commissioned a number of reports to assist it in its work. These are listed in Appendix 3 of the Taskforce report. Copies of these reports and the government response are available and can be requested from Karen.Fergusson@dol.govt.nz.
