This two hour course introduces participants to their rights and responsibilities as employees in the paid workforce. By the end of this course participants should be able to:
- Identify their rights under the law
- Describe their rights they have in an employment agreement
- List their responsibilities to their employer
- Discuss the meaning of the term ‘fair and reasonable’

- Compare and contrast unions and other interest groups

This two hour course introduces participants to the income support and benefits available through Work & Income, Inland Revenue, and other benefits available to low income workers. By the end of the course, participants should be able to:
- Identify the types of income support and other benefits available through Work & Income and Inland Revenue
- List the benefits available to low income workers
- Access and advise others on how to access these benefits
- Describe the concept of the social wage

The aim of this course is to increase participants' knowledge and confidence in relation to their roles as union delegates within their workplace and the employment relations process.
